Research Projects

The Office of the Women in STEM Ambassador conducts research projects and activities to attract and retain women in STEM careers. We partner with stakeholders across education, industry, research, state and federal governments to address gender issues and effect change.

We are currently leading two major research projects in collaboration with stakeholders. One project addresses the disparity in men’s and women’s success rates in research grant programs by removing names and genders from application materials (anonymising). The second project supports quality evaluation of women in STEM programs through the development and testing of a national evaluation guide.

We are also delivering a Commonwealth-funded digital awareness-raising initiative for girls in STEM to heighten the visibility of girls and women in STEM and showcase the diverse opportunities that STEM study and careers can provide.

These projects are aligned with the recommendations of the Women in STEM Decadal Plan and the priorities of the Australian Government’s Advancing Women in STEM Strategy.
