Sarah Ratcliffe

Sarah Ratcliffe (she/her; PhD) is a researcher using collaborative, intersectional research and evidence-based interventions for equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Trained in Health and Social Psychology, Sarah has worked internationally researching stigma, gender, and reproductive health. Her work applies scientific processes and evidence to dismantle barriers to equity, and support social justice.

Within the Office of the Women in STEM Ambassador, Sarah is supporting research into evidence about initiatives aiming to support diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforces. The research provides a data-driven overview of the types of initiatives that are and are not effective in improving workplace gender equity, anti-harassment, pay equity, and disability inclusion. Sarah led the disability stream of research, identifying key features of initiatives supporting workplace inclusion of people with disability in parallel with Dr Jesse Bergman. The work will guide better diversity and inclusion practices, fast-tracking Australia’s journey to a more equitable STEM workforce.
